Half-moon
Prompt: Take a randomized “walk” through the city (a random walk is a real “thing,” and is sometimes called an algorithmic walk. For example at every traffic light make a right, then walk straight, at second light make a left, repeat). Photograph at least 100 good words with your smart phone. Write three poems using the type you found on your journey, and the thoughts you had about the city and time. Using these poems, create an experimental film on premiere pro with text.
Throughout my New York City exploration, I was mostly attracted to “celestial feeling” words (hence the title half-moon). Both video and audio were key components used to detach the viewer from the literal visuals of the city and make the film more abstract.
