Prompt: This Time assignment was about representing Coney Island through the past and present, with "playtime" a prompt meaning to show off the aspect of "play" within Coney Island. The prompt allowed students to discover the rich history of Coney Island and its surroundings.
“Coney Island” shows my perspective of the theme park throughout its history. While the prompt was to focus on “playtime”, I wanted to show the rich backdrops, locations, and fun of Coney Island, while also showing its degradation and loss of popularity ever since its spectacular opening over a century ago.
