Rabbit Hearted
Prompt: During the first 3 weeks, students will develop a 3D personal symbol (Objects or materials that represent your personality or interests, a “portrait” personal logo like) inspired by using rigid linear materials for a structure such as metal wire, wood dowels, metal and or plastic rods. Flexible linear materials as connectors, such as rope, rubber bands, thread, etc. This symbol can be inspired by how you identify yourselves and how the communities you belong to (“the world”) observe you.
I am a very introverted person. I am shy and reserved and like to quietly and carefully observe my surroundings. I am very careful with who I trust and who I let close to me. Due to this, I have been told all my life that I remind people of a rabbit. For my piece, I created a rabbit anatomy-inspired modern adaptation of a battle headpiece – representing how my observant and cautious nature acts as a means to protect myself.
