Prompt: For this assignment, students were tasked with developing a 3D personal symbol. This symbol can be inspired by identity, or how the communities that one belongs in defines or observes them.
When we were tasked with creating lists of how we and our community see ourselves, I realized that I don’t know much about how others see me and most importantly, how I see myself. So, I decided to choose a receipt as my personal symbol. Just like a receipt, there are many unnecessary filler words that are used to make the receipt longer, and my list longer as well. I think a receipt also goes well with my personality since I personally think one of my defining characteristics is my ability to overthink every scenario and situation, similar to the random ads and numbers on a receipt.
