Prompt: In this project, we were to research the notion of senses, focusing on the sense of touch, and research the structure of insects’ exoskeletons. Based on this research, we were to design a Wearable Exoskeleton that can cover the face, arm, leg, or any other part you chose, focusing on the 3D design elements.

 

Based on the research I did, I decided to focus on the idea of the limitation of the exoskeleton. As I mentioned, the insects’ movements are actually limited by their exoskeletons. In my opinion, this limitation is also a kind of control; the exoskeletons control the insects, and the insects are somewhat trapped in their  exoskeleton. Another essential idea I’d like to focus on is how all our senses are connected, especially seeing and touching. Therefore, I made a wearable structure that covers the face. The structure strictly limits my head movement, and the feeling brought by the structure through touching is very wearable.
