Yitong Guo

This is a sensory experience rather than an installation piece. We live in a shoebox sized place and call it our home in the city, most of us don’t have natural lightings in our dorm. Sometimes we crave a place where we can get away from our stress and work, but living on campus is inevitably linked to our academic life. We can’t really escape it, but we can do something about it. I wonder how much we can do to change our perception of our surrounding environment. I used sounds, visuals, and scents to create an immersive experience that transcends the audiences’ current space and time. By incorporating elements of meditation, this experience also provides the audience with a calming state of mind and helps them to relax in the midst of a hectic academic environment.
