The myth I worked with was about crows being seen as a good omen in India. It was believed that when you heard or saw a crow, guests were about to arrive, connecting to the phrase “guest is god” and the cultural value of hospitality. Crows were also seen as messengers of departed ancestors during rituals. This belief came from the story of Jayant, who disguised himself as a crow, disturbed Rama and Sita, and was later forgiven and given a new purpose. I used recycled materials in this piece to reflect that transformation and sense of renewal.
