Elevated Acre Design Intervention
Prompt: The final bridge integrates multiple principles of design representation through section and plan view drawings. The class had the option of selecting a site from a list of Privately Owned Public Spaces in lower Manhattan. The objective is to add an intervention to the site to improve the interaction and usability of the site.
My intervention focuses on the addition of naturally inspired elevation change. The system of passageways allows for movement between levels connecting Elevated Acre to the parking garage below. My aim was to create more elevation change in the site while integrating versatile seating and program use. I reimagined the site as a vertical park that could create seclusion for the public visiting the busy area of the Financial District.
