Prompt: Remembering my future, creating a video piece exploring your future in the world, by looking back from the far future to a nearer future.

The project deals with metaphorical visions of genitalia through fruit and the natural world, and through the recreation of Louise Bourgeois’ tangerine figures. The piece aims to illustrate the current state of our world and how I aspire for it to become in the future. The world, a tangerine globe, at its core holds and protects the patriarchy, the earth has been dominated and penetrated, and is held hostage by a phallic form, and when formed and pulled away, the earth becomes not so dependent on sex, gender, perhaps free, perhaps liberated. The piece becomes this almost mythological performance tale, retelling this story of castrating and liberating the world and onsetting the beginning of regeneration. A regeneration of the planet and its people, once this alphamasculine capitalistic and dominant energy is removed from our environment. The video is played through a fragment of Verdi’s La Traviata (public domain), a piece, that in the context of classical work, becomes a story of love and “queerness”, “estrano, estrano”.
