Jonna Marie Grigelevich

Eleventh Grade

Class of: 2022

Major: Architectural Design BFA

Medium: Collage, ink, digital photography and photo manipulation, gum

Faculty: Kate Harding

Prompt: Students were to create a physical piece of art inspired by the prompt "a time when my understanding of something changed." The only specific requirements were that students must use at least one of these three methods when creating their piece: analog, digital, and an alternative output method using the Parsons orientation resources.

I chose to base my project off of the time in my life that I realized I should chase my dreams of going to design school in New York City. This piece includes materials like acrylic laser-cut teeth, manipulated photographs, and actual chewed up bubble gum. Everything in the piece is symbolic of my experience going through eleventh grade, the year I made this realization.
