Medium: Ink and ink wash on bristol

Prompt: The assignment for the final project was called "The Invented Space." The goal of the assignment was to create any environment that demonstrates as many skills that we could that we had learned in class. The skills could include drawing primary shapes, the figure, the portrait, one two and three point perspective, and drawing solids.
The piece is a one-point perspective of a dystopian cityscape. The figures in the front are characters I have been experimenting with for a few months. I developed their look and outfit by studying early mountaineering and skiing gear. I then took my favorite elements from the gear and created a sci-fi explorer character which I used in some earlier pieces. The assignment we had been given in Drawing and Imaging was to create an environment that allowed us to demonstrate the skills we had learned in the class. I wanted to create a coherent environment that allowed me to use perspective, portrait and figure drawing, and constructing shapes. The dystopian city-scape seemed to be the best way to do this.
