Prompt: Develop ideas for a portrait that merges and transforms your self-image with that of your chosen archetypal figure. The portrait will be photo-based using digital and analogue techniques. This merge portrait will convey qualities you most wish to amplify in the present and communicate a new vision of yourself in the world.
In this photograph titled, The Innocent Child, I portray myself as the “innocent child” archetype by creating an image of myself holding an idealized, artificial, fragile, glass-like bust of my head. By formulating this visual image to be likened to that of a mother holding her baby, I represent how innocence both safeguards me and makes me vulnerable.
