Prompt: For this piece, you will look to an imagined future to envision all that you would like to see in the world. What type of world do you want to live in? You will create a fictional story that includes fictional memories. Place yourself in the year 2072, you will tell a story about a significant transformative occurrence that took place in the year 2022 that shifted everything for you – allowing for your imagined future to transpire. This would be an occurrence that affected you personally and which had global implications as well.

I want the world in the future to be one that fixes all our human errors. The world in 2072 will be one of economic equality. Right now, so many are motivated by greed – people want to have more money, clothes, cars and houses. We have become materialistic and are depleting resources. There is also the opposite side of this spectrum: poverty. Across the globe, there are people motivated by money for completely different reasons, sustenance.

Water was an element featured throughout the movie. In the beginning, the water took the form of thunderstorms representing our tumultuous relationship with out environment. It was also used to show how people are constantly discarding resources and then in the end , it was used to symbolise our penance. I also showed a transformation in the natural elements from thunderstorms and murky water to clear skies and birds chirping in the background. The other symbol I used through the video were the objects on the floor. These objects kept reducing with time showing our progress and passage of time. It finally ended with the one essential object needed: the cup which was featured through the film.
