Prompt: This project requires students to use Illustrator and another material to create repetitive patterns that are used to complete a self-portrait. The topic is past/present/future, which means that the portrait students create should show the contrast between two time periods.

This project is composed of two parts. The right one is completed with geometric  gures, such as triangles, squares, circles, lines, and so on. I am intended to create a three-dimensional  gure by  lling them out and controlling the density of the arrangement. The photo I choose is a pro le which contrasts with the other half which is a front photo of my childhood. I painted the other half by using ink and  ngerprints. When I recalled what kind of elements can represent a person’s childhood, I thought I was required to imprint my  ngerprints on the birth certi cate. Therefore, I decided to use my  ngerprints to complete this half which can also represent my identity.
